Just when you thought Kylie couldn’t give us any more to talk about since surprising us with her baby girl, Stormi… she drops the Kylie Cosmetics Weather Collection.
After hibernating for 9 months while she was pregnant, disappearing from social media and keeping us all in the dark about what on earth is going on in her life, she is back with a bang (or a thunderclap?!) and brings us not just one baby – Stormi… but also a brand new collection for her other baby – Kylie Cosmetics. The Kylie family is getting even bigger, and I LOVE it.
So… on a random Thursday afternoon in February, Kylie took to Instagram stories to announce the Kylie Cosmetics Weather Collection, inspired by, and dedicated to her baby girl, Stormi Webster. She just loves to surprise us doesn’t she…
Now when I say the collection was inspired by and dedicated to her daughter, Stormi, I mean literally… The new Weather collection, with over 10 brand new products (not just additional shades of existing products) all boast the weather theme, with names like ‘Eye of the Storm, Calm Before the Storm, and Nova’ and is the biggest collection since her Vacation Collection of 2017.
Whilst showing off this mega collection on Instagram, Kylie told us:
“After we chose Stormi’s name, her name really inspired me. I spent a lot of time on this collection and I put a lot of detail into it”
And yup she certainly did! Here’s what we can get our hands on:
Brand New Matte Lipsticks
In 3 brand new shades, Nightfall, Cosmic and Nova.
Nightfall is a deep, black shade, Cosmic is a browny nude shade and Nova is more pinky nude… (so hard to explain!) Cosmic and Nova look pretty similar when you look at them separately but if you put them next to eachother you can see that Nova is more slightly more pink than Cosmic.
All three shades come in amazing bright holographic packaging but with different designs! This is the first lip collection where the different shades have different packaging and it just makes me want them all!
The packaging for the lipsticks are also inspired by Stormi, each of them decorated with lightning and cloud patterns, on bright yellow and silver boxes.
Even the lipsticks are stamped with the lightning bolt (how cute?!) and the ‘Kylie’ written all over the packaging also has a lightning bolt replacing the ‘i’. Incred.
Kylie only recently launched bullet lipsticks in addition to her usual lipkits and they’ve sold out each time they’ve been restocked. So if these newbies are the same formula as the Silver Series (they should be) then the colour and texture is super rich and so creamy.
Glitter Eyeshadow Duos
These are a Kylie Cosmetics newbie! Kylie Cosmetics branched into the world of eyeshadows last year but they’ve always been palettes (so lush!)… this time she’s mixed it up and brought us these liquid eyeshadow beauties. I’m a sucker for glitter and anything sparkly and so I will definitely be adding all of these to my collection… (watch out for them on my Instagram!)
The first duo contains a shimmery gold shade called Superstar and a metallic pink called Twinkle Twinkle.
The other has two darker shades, Violet Moon which is a metallic blue, and Destiny which is a bronzy brown shade.
They each come with a wand inside the bottle to apply the eyeshadow and then you can use your fingers to smudge it.
Eyeshadow Palettes – Calm Before the Storm & Eye of the Storm
Both of these palettes have contrasting textures with 5 mattes and 5 glitter shades arranged symmetrically in the palette. And sticking with the Stormi Weather theme, each of the individual eyeshadow colours are also named accordingly, with shades such as Starbaby and Celestial.
The Calm Before the Storm palette holds more bright and bold colours for spring and summer like pastel green, lilac and yellow.
The Eye of The Storm is a little bit darker and these deeper colours are perfect for a smoky eye with the added extra vivid yellow and sparkly violet shades.
The amount of eyeshadow looks you’ll be able to create with these two palettes is insane. And the colours are so unbeliveable. The great thing about the Kylie Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes is how pigmented the colours are. Kylie did a little show and tell on her Instagram… (of course she did! It’s what everyone waits for as soon as a new line is announced so you can ‘try before you buy’) and she showed just how pigmented the shadows are. And just let me tell you… you won’t be disappointed!
Sparkly Lip Gloss
Kylie has a few lip glosses in her collection now, and here is another one to add to it! The gloss has a kind of holographic look about it, with glitter inside the gloss. It’s so sparkly! And it’s perfect for wearing on its own, or on top of any of the other gorgeous lipkits or lipstick shades in the collection!
Cast your minds back to last summer when Kylie gave us ‘The Wet Set’. We all went crazy for it and it sold out so quickly! Well… prepare yourself because here’s a brand new highlighter palette for those who didn’t manage to get their hands on the original wet set (…or if you managed to anyway and know how incredible they are!)
This palette has 4 pans with pink and peach shades! Take a look at the swatches below.
Loose Highlight Powder
Another one of Kylie’s signature highlight powders to add to your collection… If you missed out on one of Kylie’s loose highlights the last time she brought them out… the be prepared, because these probably won’t be around for long!
The shimmer on these is unbelievable and you literally need the smallest amount to get that incredible glow!
Yellow Creme Gel Eyeliner
Another first for Kylie Cosmetics and I’m not sure how I feel about this just yet! This is basically a creme eyeliner (to be applied with a brush) but instead of being a normal eyeliner shade, Kylie went for bright yellow…
Yup, you read that right. It’s bright yellow.
Because, why not?!
Now, at first I thought ‘I have no idea when I am going to wear that!’ but Kylie shares her looks of the Kylie Cosmetic Instagram and gives us all a bit of inspiration. I’m kinda warming to it now…
The entire collection launches on February 28th at 3pm PST (11pm GMT for us guys!)
Get ready to snap up your faves!
