We all love a Kylie launch… from the teaser posts on Instagram, to the walkthrough on Insta stories and then patiently waiting for the clock to change to 11pm UK time, refreshing the site until the products go on sale.
I mean, most of us have been there haven’t we?
That panic as you try to bag the latest product before it instantly sells out…
Ahh it’s so exciting but so stressful! I mean, who would have thought that buying makeup would ever be so stressful? I certainly didn't!
Kybrows, Kylie’s latest makeup products launched on April 29th (if you missed it, check it out here) and when I went on to purchase some on April 30th my shade had sold out. So, if you want the makeup you pretty much need to be there on site, waiting for them to go on sale to snap up what you want… or you have to wait for the restocks.
A couple of weeks ago, Kylie announced her latest venture on Instagram. This time she’s moving slightly away from the cosmetics lines and more into skincare with the launch of Kylie Skin.
Kylie explained in an Insta story that Kylie Skin was something she had dreamt up not long after Kylie Cosmetics. So three years later… it’s about time it was released don't cha think?
I’m obsessed with skincare and I love Kylie products so this launch definitely got my attention.
As usual, when a new line in Kylie cosmetics is released, Kylie slowly releases content on social media to tease us and give us a sneak peek into the products.
This launch hasn’t been any different - the Insta posts and Insta stories have been coming in thick and fast and Kylie has even taken to IGTV and posted some videos talking about each product in a bit more depth and she’s even filmed a short tutorial demonstrating how she uses all of the products in her skincare routine.
The Kylie Skin collection has launched with six products:
1. Foaming Cleanser
Kylie describes this as creamy but foamy face wash that doesn't strip the face.
It contains kiwi seed oil which is an antioxidant and source of vitamin C and E to help skin feel moisturised, hydrated and looking bright. Ingredients also include glycerin, cleansing agents and sodium hyaluronate.
2. Walnut Face Scrub
A face scrub to gently exfoliate and remove dead skin cells without drying the skin.
The scrub contains squalane (from olives), glycerin, sodium hyaluraonate, a blend of fruit extracts and fine walnut powder and ginseng extract.
3. Vanilla Milk Toner
An alcohol free toner to follow the cleanser and scrub. It contains squalane (from olives), avocado oil, apricot kernel oil and apple fruit extract.
4. Vitamin C Serum
A serum packed with vitamin C to reduce redness, stimulate collagen production and promote anti-ageing. Contains Vitamin C and Camellia Oleifera Leaf which is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient.
5. Face Moisturizer
Kylie says that this product is her favourite in the collection and she uses it as a primer to give her makeup a flawless look every time. Not too thick nor too thin or oily, this moisturizer is suitable for all skin types.
It contains glycerin, shea butter, banana leaf extract, oat bran extract, orange peel extract and aloe.
6. Eye Cream
The perfect pick me up for under the eyes, this eye cream contains caffeine, green tea vitamin E and pomegranate to refresh the skin, reduce puffiness and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some makeup wipes (which Kylie calls towelettes) on a post or video somewhere too…
The packaging was the first thing that drew me to the products… it’s a gorgeous shade of pale pink with just white writing on. The products look perfect together as a set and they would look super cute sitting on the shelf in my bathroom!
The products are super affordable and just like her makeup launches, the full collection can be purchased as a bundle, making the products slightly cheaper. (Don’t forget the shipping charges and import charges if you’re ordering from the UK!)
When Kylie Cosmetics launches a new line, the major conflict is usually the price… I mean the Wet Set at $60 was a little on the pricey side even if the highlight was bomb af.
But with Kylie Skin, the price isn’t what has got people talking on social media… it’s the products themselves… well one of them in particular.
The walnut face scrub.
Kylie’s video talking about the scrub describes it as really gentle, gentle enough to use every day. Kylie recommends using it 2 to 3 times per week as that's how often she uses it. Kylie says that some walnut face scrubs are kinda harsh on the skin but this one isn’t too abrasive and it really leaves her face feeling super baby soft, makes you look glowy, takes away dead skin cells and it’s her secret to a fresh face.

walnut face scrub. my secret to a fresh face. xo, Kylie ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Squalane - a highly-refined moisturizing oil from olives helps to strengthen and restore skin’s moisture barrier ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Glycerin - helps balance the moisture in your skin ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Sodium Hyaluronate - derivative of Hyaluronic Acid, hydrates and helps to plump the skin ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Blend of fruit extracts and fine walnut powder- to help gently exfoliate ⠀ ⠀ Ginseng Extract- helps energize the skin ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Fragrance Free
The walnut face scrub has received a lot of backlash on social media, especially from dermatologists. Walnut shell and even walnut shell dust has apparently been proven to be super bad for your skin, and using it as an exfoliant could actually damage your skin,... even if the damage immediately visible, it could be later down the line.
Several people commented on Instagram posts of the scrub, saying that ‘manual exfoliants such as walnuts scrubs create micro-tears in the skin which can lead to infections that cause breakouts. this can also lead to long term skin damage.’
Whether you’ve tried a walnut scrub before and you love it, or you haven’t tried it yet, like with any product, it’s never suited for everyone. Everyone’s skin is different and something which might work for one person might not suit the next. So make sure you always do your research before purchasing and using any product on your skin!
Kylie has created videos talking about all of the other products and has included lists of the key ingredients in the captions. Take a look at them below!
