Pixi Beauty have launched the Milky Collection – a new collection devoted entirely to hydration and no one is as excited as I am. Hydrating products are super important all yeah round but especially in summer, so to have this full collection delivered to my door just in time for summer… my skin is going prepped for summer in no time!
I was lucky enough to receive the PR package from Pixi and honestly the packaging was unreal! Pixi always go above and beyond with their PR packages and you never know how the products are going to arrive.
In keeping with the Milky collection theme, the six products from the collection arrived as milk cartons in a carry case. How cute?! Each product was packaged as a milk carton with the product name printed on each… and the sage pastel green and white theme was also carried on through the packaging.
I think this was my favourite ever PR package!
The full Milky Collection is live on the Pixi website (and Look Fantastic) and contains 7 products all enriched with coconut, jojoba and probiotics to nourish the skin and keep it protected. I received 6 of the 7 products, the only one not in the package was the Hydrating Milky Mist. I don’t know how much use I would have gotten from the Mist though so I didn’t mind that it wasn’t included.
1. REMOVE: Milky Makeup Remover
Each of the milk cartons were numbered and labelled with the product name on the box. Carton 1 was ‘Remove’ and held the Milky Makeup Remover. As expected with a makeup remover it’s a bi-phase product so you need to give it a shake before you use it so the ingredients are well mixed.
Like the Vitamin C Makeup Remover I tried a few months ago from Pixi, the product is dispensed with a press down top and it requires 3-4 pumps to get enough product onto the pad. A makeup remover is a great start to an evening makeup routine to remove makeup and it does exactly that.
It’s said to remove waterproof makeup too (although I haven’t tried that yet) and it also contains cinnamon which is anti-inflammatory and oat extract to soothe and hydrate the skin.
2. CLEANSE: Milky Cleanser
Step 2 is the Milky Cleanser. A creamy cleanser which cleans the skin without stripping it. It’s gentle enough on the skin that it can be used daily and the ingredients such as coconut extract and willow bark keep the skin moisturised and calms any irritation. You only need a small amount to cleanse the whole face as a little goes a long way!
3. PEEL: Hydrating Milky Peel
After the cleanse comes the Milky Peel. The peel is a gentle exfoliator which works to remove dead skin cells to leave the skin looking brighter and more refreshed. It contains the same moisturising ingredients as the other products in the collection so your skin isn’t stripped after use. It also contains arginine which encourages collagen and elastin production in the skin. To use, apply to the skin and work it in before leaving for 2-3 minutes and rinsing off.
One thing to note about this product is that phenoxyethanol is 4th on the ingredient list, so any of the ingredients listed below phenoxyethanol (so all except the first 3 ingredients) will be a concentration of less than 1%.
4. TONE: Milky Tonic
A toner follows on from the cleansing and Peel. To be used exactly like the Glow Tonic, the Milky Tonic is a hydrating toner which balances the complexion and soothes the skin. It also contains oat extract and jojoba as well as camellia leaf extract, orange peel extract and lavender extract plus several other botanical ingredients including green tea.
5. TREAT: Hydrating Milky Serum
My favourite part of the skincare routine – the serums. After removing makeup, cleansing and toning the skin it needs some extra hydration in the form of a serum. The Milky Serum works to hydrate and protect the skin whilst also improving elasticity. It contains aloe vera, vitamin C, Vitamin E and jojoba oil.
6. MOISTURISE: Milky Lotion
The final step is to apply the moisturiser – the Milky Lotion. This is a fairly thick product so the tiniest amount is needed if you’re applying it to the face. Based on the consistency and how the product dispenses from the tube, it looks more like a moisturiser for the body rather than a face moisturiser.
It contains shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa seed extract so your skin is super soft afterwards. Based on how rich the lotion is, I would rather use this as a winter moisturiser than a moisturiser in sprint/summer.
Have you tried any of the Milky Collection? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments.
*These products were gifted to me but this does not have any impact on the review. I always give my honest opinion and would only recommend products that I genuinely love and would use.
