Uber Sonic Electric Toothbrush – Is it worth it?

I’ve thought about buying an electric toothbrush for ages but never gotten round to it… I mean they’re so expensive so I’ll have to shop around to make sure I pick the right one…. And that takes time… time which I’d rather use shopping for clothes or browsing Instagram (I know… you could have guessed!)…

And then came along Uber Sonic… who asked me to review their electric toothbrush… erm…yes, please! I hadn’t heard of Uber Sonic before so I did a little Google… and had a browse on their website.

Their whole website is focussed on the toothbrush and its features… sleek design… chargeable… affordable… yup, heard it all before. Buuuuuut…

I bet you’ve never heard of getting your toothbrush on a subscription, have you?

Nope, me neither…

I mean, apart from the beauty boxes I get on the reg, I see ‘subscription’ and run a mile… no chance I’m signing up to something for a whole year when I might not even use it (I made that mistake with the gym… signed up with 3 months free last September… it’s now June… and I haven’t been since September last year… I see that £30 leave my bank every month and I have nothing to show for it)… but Ubersonic got me thinking. This is what they are offering…

For £19 you get an electric toothbrush… and a free whitening kit (another thing I’ve realllllly wanted to try)… and then for £9 every 2 months you get 2 new toothbrush heads delivered to your door. Awesome! So it’s basically like a new toothbrush every month… and you can sit with your feet up and do nothing other than click buy.

And every 12 months you’ll get a brand new electric toothbrush and whitening kit just for signing up to the subscription process.

Now when I saw you get two heads every 2 months… it got me thinking… do I need that many? The American Dental Association say it’s important to change your toothbrush heads every three months… but obvious wear and tear might mean that it’s needed sooner. So maybe I do? Or maybe one could be a spare… who knows.

But anyway… on to the toothbrush itself…

It’s probably the nicest looking electric toothbrush I’ve seen… Ok… that sounds weird – I mean that it’s not big, clunky and ugly… it’s sleek and silver annnnnd…

It’s made from the same material as your iPhone (brushed aluminium if you didn’t know – I had to google!)… pretty cool huh?!

It’s super lightweight so perfect for travelling and it doesn’t take up much space in your bag. The heads come with protectors so you don’t need to worry about putting it away in a box to pack (using extra space) – you can just throw it in.

It’s got 1 set of bristles on the head which have a super high-speed movement to remove bacteria from your teeth. The only thing that lets it down is that the bristles don’t spin… There is only one speed setting and once this is turned on, the whole brush vibrates…

The toothbrush comes with a charging dock and is pretty quick to charge from zero to full.

But if you’re like me and don’t like subscriptions you’re not obsessed with but you still fancy the toothbrush… you can buy it separately for £69 which includes the brush and the two heads…

Or if you need a refill you can buy 2 heads for £13.
