I’ve only ever tried Avon perfumes a couple of times but I always seem to gravitate back to my usual signature scents…(don’t we all?) but this time I decided to give Avon’s brand new Far Away Rebel a go and mix up my scent for a change.
Far Away Rebel is the latest perfume to be added to the ‘Far Away’ collection by Avon, joining the line with Exotic, Paradise, Sunset, Soleil and the rest. (They all sound sooo dreamy!).
Avon have described Far Away Rebel as a ‘combination of creme de cassis, fresh orange blossom flower, salted chocolate and toffee’.
Now when I first read that I was wondering whether it was actually going to one of those really unusual mixtures that smells incred… or like my grandmas sofa. You’ll be pleased to know it was definitely the first option.
It smells lush.
I did a bit of research before trying the product and I found one review which says it smells like Thierry Mugler’s Alien… Alien is literally my go-to perfume so when I saw this I was super excited as Avon’s Far Away Rebel is a smidge of the price of Alien.
I don’t think it smells like Alien but I can definitely see where they were coming from.
I was impressed with how long the perfume lasted – usually the less you pay for the perfume, the quicker it fades but I could still smell this on me for hours – my boyfriend even commented on how long it lasted!
The bottle is a beaut shade of deep purple, still the circular Far Away style but with an edgy kinda lid. I prefer perfumes when they come with a lid in case they leak in my bag (so paranoid) so this one is a winner.
Avon have brought out a set which includes the perfume, a body lotion and a mini travel size bottle for your handbag (Avon call it a purse spray but the little bottle just reminds me of going on holiday). All of these can be bought individually but it works out cheaper in the set… plus it means you get to take the scent with you to the shower and always have it with you for a top up when you’re out and about without it taking up too much space in your bag.
The body lotion is soooo soft! It soaks into your skin completely and you’re not left with any sticky residue on your skin. The smell isn’t as strong as the perfume itself once you’ve rubbed it in but it’s easily topped up with a spritz of perfume.
You can find all three products on Avon’s website here!
Have you tried any other perfumes in the Far Away collection from Avon? Which are your faves?
